The Trojans Speech & Debate team found success at the Johns Creek Gladiator Debate Tournament on Saturday, October 4, taking home ten awards. Students competed across four events and we took home awards in three of them. In Informative, the team took home three awards. Brooklyn Jackson placed 6th, Tanisi Chunder placed 5th, and Caroline Beam placed 4th.

In Oratory, the event advanced the top six competitors to a final round. Samuel Lamirand placed 5th and Anita McCray was the Champion of the event. In Impromptu, the largest speech event at the tournament, Anita advanced to the final round and she finished 5th. She was the only student to win two awards. In debate we had students competing in Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum. In novice Lincoln Douglas, Lassiter had five competitors. Jesse Rivera went 3-1 and finished 5th. Max Lukens went 4-0 and finished 2nd. In Varsity, Grace Qian finished as the Champion and Haran Anand finished as Runner Up.

Back in September, the team also had successful finishes at the Alpharetta Treasure Hunt and Peach Fuzz Tournament. Congratulations to all the students that placed.
