Visual arts instruction in Cobb prepares students for school, work, and life. The Georgia Standards of Excellence are reflected through the Cobb Teaching and Learning Standards, guiding students to communicate their ideas creatively in a visual format. Instruction in the visual arts discipline is delivered through four strands: production, presenting, responding, and connecting. These four investigative areas allow students to learn to create their own artwork, present it for exhibition, express artistic intent through oral conversation and written explanation, and connect their work to other disciplines and real-world experiences.

- Practice self-regulation and build self-esteem
- Articulate a vision
- Develop the ability to imagine possibilities
- Accept responsibility
- Complete tasks from start to finish
Fine Arts Diploma Seals
More than 890 Cobb seniors received Fine Arts Diploma Seals in 2022. The diploma seal is a signal to employers and higher education institutions that a student is prepared to participate in Georgia’s $62.5 billion creative economy. Students can receive a diploma seal in fine arts for completing an instructional pathway, community service hours, and a capstone project in dance, music, theatre, or the visual arts.
