We’re excited to celebrate Wes Auld, Awtrey’s Teacher of the year, and Jodie Mathews, Awtrey’s Classified Employee of the Year! Both of these staff leaders made a significantly positive difference in our school community, and their exceptional service is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us celebrate these two amazing professionals!
Mr. Auld, one of our 8th grade math teachers, has been described as someone who “…goes out of his way to ensure the academic success for all of our students…”, and he also serves in an exemplary manner across our school community. His positive attitude is contagious, and we are proud that he also serves as a trusted adult in Sources of Strength. Mr. Auld’s enthusiasm for teaching and learning and proven results makes him an awesome Awtrey ambassador to represent our school as our Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Mathews, our bookkeeper, has been described as someone who “…does it with a full heart for every staff member…”, and “her kindness, generosity, mentorship, and patience exemplify what it means to be an Awtrey Viking.” She serves above and beyond in her role, making a positive difference across our school community. Her openness to willingly assist all members of our school community help make her an amazing role model and well deserving of the honor to be our Classified Employee of the Year!
