Getting Ready for school 25-25 Preparation Tips

WELCOME TO THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR!

Welcome to the new school year and we’re excited to get back together with our returning students and welcome our new students! Thanks for keeping in mind the following items to help us prepare for a successful start:

  1. Student Dress Code 24-25
  2. 24-25 Cell Phone- Electronic Device Policy
  3. 24-25 handbook parent q and a
  4. 24-25 Technology Care Plan
  5. School Supplies 6th Grade Supply List for 2024-2025    7th & 8th Grades: Send your students with the basics on the first day (pen/pencil/paper). Teachers may have specific items they require for their individual classes.
  6. Meet & Greet: Our annual Meet & Greet is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, from 12:30-3:00 pm. This special event is a great time to visit campus to meet teachers and staff, join PTSA and purchase spirit wear, sign up for student clubs and organizations, visit with café staff for student meal accounts, and consult transportation staff for bus information. Check out the Meet & Greet dates for our neighboring schools: Vertical CCC Meet and Greet 2024
  7. Open House: Our annual Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 15, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This special event is a great time to visit classrooms to learn about student expectations, join PTSA and purchase spirit wear, visit with the office staff for ParentVUE access needs. Important Note: The schedule for this evening will be timed class periods as parents rotate to enjoy each of the seven class period, and we appreciate families being on time to ensure no class periods are missed.
  8. Student Laptops: We will continue to encourage all students to use school-issued laptops or their own laptops/tablets. Mid-July the ParentVUE access for opting students in to receive school laptops will open, and additional information will be sent about this exciting plan. 6th graders will receive their laptops within the first 5 days of school during school hours.
  9. Summer Reading: Students are encouraged to choose what books they read during the summer. We want to remind students to utilize our Sora app which has eBooks and Audiobooks available, or visit our local North Cobb Regional Library. Students should then log their minutes reading in the Beanstack app. Students who read and log more than 1,000 minutes this summer from May 24 - August 31, will recieve a special reward and will be entered into a drawing for a cool gift!

Thank you for your support of student success!  Please reach out to the school office with any questions about our plans for the new year, and we’re eager to begin this new school year with our families!
