Welcome Faculty and Staff

Mrs. Beverly is our paraprofessional. She left for a year and she we are excited to have her back! She was born and raised in Georgia. Go Dawgs! She has two girls, on in college and one a senior at Kennesaw Mountain High. When she is not busy with her girls' activities, she enjoys downtime with her husband, dog and cat!

Mrs. Cardona is our front office clerk. She recently moved from North Carolina to Georgia with  husband and two boys. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with family, baking and taking the boys to their activities.

Ms. Dunn is our 2nd grade teacher. She has taught six years in Marietta City. She is currently working on her specialist degree in Instructional Technology, Media, and Design from the University of Georgia. She coaches varsity competition cheerleading at Walton High School.

Miss Hill is our 4th grade teacher. she just graduated from KSU. She grew up in Cobb County. She enjoys playing pickle ball, volleyball, running, and watching the Braves!

Mrs. Holmes is our special education teacher. She went to CCSD school and graduated from Walton. She is entering her tenth year in education. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's and specialist degree in special education. She has taught in both the general education and special education settings. She and her husband, Brian, have three children, one bonus child, and two dogs. She enjoys reading, shopping, and traveling to the beach.

Ms. Hummel is our speech-language pathologist. she is a CCSD alum! she hold a bachelor's and master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia. She just graduated with her master's degree in May. Go Dawgs! She loves reading, going on walks and spending time with friends and family at the lake.


Mr. Katz is our special education teacher. He was born in New York. He served in the Navy for four years. He has a BA in psychology and anthropology and a MA  in educational leadership with an emphasis in special education. He has taught for 24 years (high school, middle, elementary, general ed., gifted and special ed.) He has been married for 21 years and have two boys in high school.


Ms. Kula is our special education teacher. She has been a teacher for just over two years and has recently moved to Cobb county. She loves to spend her free time reading and spending quality time with family and friends.


Mrs. Patel is our paraprofessional. She is excited to be back at Chalker. She and her husband, Raj, have two girls, both of whom are Chalker alumni. She likes to play tennis, sew, and loves arts and crafts. Her favorite thing to do is be on the beach with a good book.

Mrs. Postemus is our special education teacher. This is her tenth year teaching. When not teaching she loves exploring fun things around Atlanta with her daughter, Gabby. She likes day trips, listening to audiobooks and being outdoors.

Mrs. Salter is our Target teacher. She has 21 years of teaching. She has taught middle school language arts and reading, elementary special education, and elementary gifted students. She's also worked as an academic coach, assistant principal, preschool director, and math consultant. Mrs. Salter took some time off to grow her family (three girls, a husband, and a dog).
