February is CTAE (Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education) Month
At CITA, our Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program is preparing our students for their next step after high school -- college, beginning a career, registered apprenticeships, or the military, supporting our mission of “Your Choice, Your Future.” The CITA CTAE pathway course offerings leverage partnerships with industry and higher education to ensure students have the skills they need to thrive in the future workforce. CITA offers students 17 career pathways in many in-demand workforce areas within the 17 Georgia Career Clusters.
For CTAE month, CITA celebrates how CTAE delivers:
- Real-world, workforce-ready skills.
- Real high school experience with added value.
- Real opportunities for college and rewarding careers.
Another part of celebrating CTAE month is to recognize our Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) which are a vital part of Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program. CTSOs play an integral role in preparing students to become college and career ready members of society who hold productive leadership roles in their communities. Our CTSOs are committed to the growth of students in all CTAE career pathways.
These organizations provide motivation, leadership training, and career development opportunities for students enrolled in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education programs in middle and high schools and enhance their occupational, employability and leadership skills through various activities such as conferences, award programs, service projects, and competitive events. These organizations conduct activities and events at the local, state and national levels in which students can participate and compete. CITA has the following CTSOs:
