As summer begins, we hope our Cardinals will dive into some good books! Reading just 20 minutes a day helps prevent the “summer slide” and keeps students’ minds growing all summer long. To encourage summer reading, the Cobb County School District Library Media Education Department is challenging students to read at least 20 minutes each day and work toward a goal of 15 hours of reading this summer.

From June 1 to July 31, Clarkdale Elementary is participating in “Find Your Reading Joy” a Summer Reading Challenge presented by Beanstack and Comics Plus. We challenge our school community to read at least 20 minutes a day during the summer and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at https://cobbclarkdale.beanstack.org using a student ID and birthday (MMDD) or on the Beanstack mobile app. Students who reach the goal of reading 15 hours will rewarded with a cool treat when we return to school.
