Imagine your child exploring the wonders of science with interactive exhibits from renowned museums like the Fernbank Museum and Tellus Science Museum, learning new skills through adaptive sports programs such as Special Pops Tennis and BlazeSports America, Inc., or unleashing their creativity in art and music workshops offered by organizations like Songs for Kids and the Georgia Symphony Orchestra. Families can also connect with sensory-focused play centers like Sloomoo Institute, inclusive recreational facilities like the YMCA, and exciting destinations like Zoo Atlanta and Six Flags Over Georgia. In addition, summer camp providers like Camp Big Heart and organizations specializing in social opportunities, such as Erin’s Hope for Friends, will be on hand to showcase their offerings. Families can explore day programs and special events that cater to students with unique needs, ensuring the summer and the entire year are filled with growth, engagement, and enjoyment.

A Valuable Experience for Families

Feedback from past events highlights how much families appreciate the Community Connections Resource Fair.

As one parent shared, "This event opened doors to resources and activities we never knew existed, giving our child opportunities to thrive socially and emotionally."

The vendor-style format with decorated tables encourages interaction, allowing families to ask questions, gather information, and make connections in a welcoming and engaging environment. Just as they do during the school day, Cobb Schools Special Education Leadership team will be available to provide additional support and guidance during the fun-filled evening.

Explore Accessibility and Sensory-Friendly Options

The fair’s focus on accessibility and sensory-friendly options is a key draw for families. Participating organizations represent a wide range of activities, from recreational sports and arts programs to local attractions and community services. These offerings provide families with a comprehensive look at opportunities available to students with special needs, promoting inclusivity and engagement beyond the classroom.
