On Monday, October 21st, Durham celebrated its 2024-25 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Crecy Peterson, at the annual CCSD Teacher of the Year Pep Rally. Mrs. Peterson has been teaching for sixteen years and is serving her ninth year at Durham. She has taught fourth grade science, sixth grade Earth and Space Science, and seventh grade Life Science. Mrs. Peterson serves on the Durham Leadership Team, PBIS Core Team, Principal’s Advisory Council, and is currently a School Leadership Intern and the Comic Club Sponsor.  She left the TOTY Pep Rally with the following perspective: "CCSD’s foundation is made up of some of the most talented and qualified individuals in this state. I’m proud to be a part of that. It inspires me to continue to always do my best for my students each day I walk in my classroom." Congratulations, Mrs. Peterson! You are one of the "most talented" to which you refer. Durham is proud of and thankful for you!
