In 1990 a young student teacher came to Floyd Middle school to teach art… and she never left.  1991 Ms. Lisa Collins became the art teacher at Floyd Middle school. For 30 years ,Ms. Collins used her talents to transform this campus into a living work of art. AS you walk the halls of Floyd every piece of art work you see, every mural you see is a result of the efforts of Ms. Collins and her art students.  Ms. Collins made Floyd her home. She established a program and classroom where every student belonged and every student could explore their talents and gifts.  Ms. Collins built many relationships across Cobb County and Georgia to give her students exposure and opportunity and confidence.  Not only did she work to build up and support her students, she supported and built up her peers and the other teachers at Floyd. Never have I met a kinder soul, more supportive spirit and genuine friend as Lisa Collins.

In honor of Ms. Collins, the Blue House shall be named the Collins House .  The House of Collins will represent Friendship & Kindness
