Dr. Hargrett Came to Floyd Middle school as an AP in 2007. Becoming the 11th Principal of Floyd in 2008. Dr. Teresa Hargrett is the longest consecutive serving principal in Floyd History. She serve as Panther number 1 for 12 years. During those 12 years Dr. Hargrett was the heart of the Floyd Community. She built bridges, built relationships, built partnership and most importantly build Community. Dr. Hargrett was and is a servant leader and puts service to others above all.  She still in retirement can be found serving her community through her church Zion Baptist Church, through her sorority Delta Sigma theta, and even now…she is serving Cobb County as a supply Assistant Principal at Griffin Middle school. She has been a friend and mentor to many including myself….and she had no clue that she was being honored here today, she came because she thought we were honoring others. 

In honor of Dr. Hargrett, the Emerald House will be called Hargrett House. The House Hargrett will represent Community & Service.
