Hendricks named Title I Rewards School by the Georgia Dept. of Education
Hendricks principal, Mike Perkins, recently announced to the Hendricks Staff and Community that Hendricks Elementary has been honored with an award from the Georgia Department of Education; our school has been named as a Title I Rewards School. Only three schools in the Cobb County School District earned that recognition this year.
Principal Perkins sent out the following message to announce the achievement:
Dear Husky Families,
I am very excited to announce that Hendricks Elementary School has officially been awarded the honor of being a Title I Rewards School for 2023. The Title I Rewards School distinction is based upon Milestones Assessment Results over the last two school years, and it is given to the schools who rank in the top 5% of all Title I Schools in the state of Georgia during that time. Furthermore, the timing of this award is extra special to our staff and students because it is based upon assessment results which directly followed the pandemic. Meaning that during the most challenging years in education, we were still able to provide some quality learning experiences for our kids. As always, we truly appreciate the support of our parents and our community, and I hope you feel good about this award, because it took all of our school stakeholders (staff, students, and parents) to contribute to the educational welfare of our children, and keep their progress moving forward. I hope you all have an awesome weekend...it is good to be a Hendricks Husky!
Sincerely,
M. Perkins
