23 Years! Cobb Again Named One of Nation’s Best Communities for Music Education

May 13, 2026 —The Cobb County School District is proud to once again be recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a Best Community for Music Education for 2026.
This marks the 23rd time Cobb's K–12 music programs have earned this prestigious national distinction, reinforcing the district’s longstanding commitment to excellence in music education. The recognition reflects not only outstanding performances and successful programs but also highlights the people, innovation, and student-centered learning experiences taking place in music classrooms across Cobb every day.
Throughout the year, Cobb has shared stories that demonstrate exactly why our community continues to stand out on the national stage. From Bryant Elementary music educator Tiphanie McClenton’s nationally recognized classroom leadership to the statewide recognition earned by Ashley Culley at Dodgen Middle School, these stories showcase educators creating meaningful opportunities for students through music.
At schools across the district, students continue to experience exceptional opportunities through music education. From impressive ensemble performances to innovative classroom experiences, these programs continue to inspire students and strengthen school communities.
These stories are powerful examples of how our music educators inspire confidence, build community, encourage creativity, and help students grow both academically and personally through the arts. Together, they reflect a culture of excellence that continues to make Cobb one of the nation’s leading communities for music education.
Congratulations to all of our music educators, students, administrators, and families who continue to make this recognition possible.
