Celebrating the Heart of King Springs Elementary: Our School Counselors

As we celebrate National School Counseling Appreciation Week from February 3-7, 2025, it's the perfect time to shine a spotlight on the incredible counselors at King Springs Elementary School. This year's theme, "School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive," couldn't be more fitting for the dedicated professionals who make a profound impact on our students' lives every day.

Meet Our Counselors

India Adams (Kindergarten and 1st Grade), Dawn Haskett (2nd and 3rd Grade), and Jessie Kelley (Multi-Grade, 4th, and 5th Grade) are the compassionate and skilled counselors who guide our students through their academic and personal journeys. Their mission is to prepare students to develop the skills necessary to be productive citizens in the 21st century, and their vision is to inspire young hearts to seek a world filled with kindness and compassion.

The Impact of Our Counselors

Our counselors provide a range of services that are proactive, comprehensive, and data driven. They offer individual counseling for students with specific concerns, lead small groups for those with common issues, and teach classroom lessons on topics like social-emotional learning, growth mindset, and bullying prevention. Their work ensures that every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Celebrating Their Contributions

During National School Counseling Week, we encourage everyone in the King Springs community to take a moment to express their gratitude to our counselors. Here are a few ways you can show your appreciation:

  • Write a Thank-You Note: A simple note of thanks can go a long way in showing our counselors how much their work is valued.
  • Participate in the Photo Challenge: Join the National School Counseling Week photo challenge by taking pictures with daily themes and sharing them on social media with #NSCW25.
  • Share Your Stories: If a counselor has made a difference in your child's life, share your story with them. Personal testimonials are powerful reminders of the positive impact they have.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this special week, let's remember that the support and guidance our counselors provide are essential to the success and well-being of our students. Their dedication helps create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you, India Adams, Dawn Haskett, and Jessie Kelley, for your unwavering commitment to our students. Your work truly makes King Springs Elementary School a better place for everyone.

Let's make this National School Counseling Appreciation Week a memorable one by celebrating the heart and soul of our school – our amazing counselors!
