Exceptional Children's Week

We are excited to celebrate Exceptional Children’s Week from March 9–13, as designated by the district. This year’s theme is “Soaring Beyond Limits: Celebrating Exceptional Children.”
To show our support and build awareness, staff are invited to wear the color that represents a specific exceptionality each day:
Monday – Other Health Impairment (OHI)
š§” Wear Orange
Tuesday – Intellectual Disability (ID)
ā¤ļø Wear Red
Wednesday – Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
š Wear Gold
Thursday – Emotional Behavioral Disability (EBD)
š Wear Green
Friday – Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
š Wear Blue
š As a small thank-you for celebrating these amazing individuals, we will have a raffle drawing on Friday:
There will be a designated table in the cafeteria during all lunch periods each day. If you’re wearing the color associated with that day’s exceptionality, stop by and add your name to the raffle.
On Friday after lunch, we will draw names, and 8 lucky teachers will win awesome gift cards, thanks to Mr. Terry Johnson!
(you can win more than one)
The best part, the more days you participate, the more chances you have to win, so don’t forget to enter your name each day you join in.
Special Request: Please take a few minutes during these days to talk with your students about inclusion. Our goal is to help students build awareness and develop a better understanding of their peers.
The Special Education Department appreciates your support in helping make this a fun, meaningful, and inclusive week for our school community!
