August 20th saw the return of our annual Partners In Education Summit. Once again, guests were greeted by members of Osbornes award winning ROTC, Student Government, and Scholar Athletes. Upon entry to the Learning Commons, guests enjoyed music courtesy of the Osborne Orchestra. After brief greetings from Assistant Principal Ben Needle, breakfast was served by Osborne Culinary students. Guests were raved about the maturity of the students present and their skills in conversation, culinary preparation, and musical abilities.

Following a brief networking period, guests were welcomed by Principal Troy Jones who shared that for years, he has been telling people that Osborne is “coming” but changed the narrative to “we have arrived.” Principal Jones then shared what the Osborne experience looks like through a highlight video from the previous year.

Greetings and opportunities continued to be shared by CITA Director Dr. Tiffany Barney, Athletic Director Ron Boggs, Administrator Myron Burton, and Dr. Ben Needle. The consistent message shared was that the doors of Osborne are open to businesses, organizations, and schools for support and partnerships.

This year, Osborne also recognized three partners with recognitions.

Chris Slaughter of CSS Transportation was awarded the Spirit of Osborne Award. This award is presented to a member in the community who has gone above and beyond for the Osborne Community. Mr. Slaughter, whose daughter graduated last year, was one of the reasons that the 2024 Senior Spolight became a reality.
