AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is an application-only, year-long college readiness program designed for students in the academic middle . AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

AVID students participate in tutorials/peer tutoring twice a week, have weekly binder checks on organizational and note-taking skills, and take college field trips to prepare for the future. Students develop WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) skills each day to ensure success in academic classes.
