After School Program
Welcome to the Smyrna Elementary After School Program
The After School Program (ASP) provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for the care of elementary students in the Cobb County School District who attend Face-to-Face instruction from after school until 6:00 PM each day school is in session, including early release days. The program does not operate on Student Holidays or District holidays. ASP will be closed upon the District’s announcement of inclement weather. ASP is a self-supporting program and receives no support from taxpayer funds.
ASP Highlights:
- $20 annual non-refundable registration fee
- $10 per day, per child, attendance billed weekly
- Register, pay, and manage accounts on any device
- Access invoices, receipts, and annual tax statements online
- Convenient, secure online payments are available
The Cobb County School District partners with Eleyo a user-friendly platform for online registration, account management, and payments. Online payments (credit card or ACH/electronic check) incur a 4.75% processing fee. Cash or check payments can be made at the school directly, with no processing fee. Please contact your school’s ASP Director for details.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The school must be notified in writing of all transportation changes by 1:45 PM each day, preferably a note should come to the child’s teacher in the morning. Transportation changes or directions made by phone calls (to the front office) will only be taken in emergencies. Please do not send the classroom teacher a message via email. Teachers are very busy during the instructional day and often do not check email until after the children have left school.
Daily Fee - "Pay Before You Stay"
The After-School Program is a PRE-PAID program. The attendance fee is $10 per day/per child. This fee ensures that After School Programs continue to be self-supporting, operate efficiently and provide the required teacher to student ratio. The daily tuition pays for all staffing needs, snacks, supplies, and games for the After- School Program. Payments should be enclosed in the gold ASP envelopes clearly labeled with student’s full name, teacher, date, and amount. If the payment is for more than one student, please include names of all students and amounts you want deposited to each student’s account. Do not include other school money, such as lunch, PTA or field trips. Change will not be given. All money will be credited to the student’s ASP account.
Outstanding Balances
Your child must have a positive account balance of at least $10 on the day you plan to send your child. As a courtesy, our clerks may contact parent(s) whose balances are running low or delinquent however, it is the parent’s responsibility to know their account balances and make payments in a timely manner. A student will be suspended from the program for non-payment of fees and other after-school childcare arrangements will need to be made.
If you have questions about your account balance, please email Michelle.Murphy@cobbk12.org You can also find this information under your account.
Late Pick-Ups
A late charge of $1 per minute/per child will be charged if your child is not picked up by 6:00 PM. Your child will be withdrawn from the program after the third late pick up, per Cobb County School District ASP program rules.
Behavior Expectations and Dismissal Procedures
- The same behavior expectations apply in ASP as during the regular school day. All Cobb County School District policies in the student handbook apply to ASP. Inappropriate behavior may result in your student’s suspension or withdrawal from the program.
- To ensure the safety and security of all students in ASP, if an emergency occurs that threatens the welfare of a student, a school official will contact the Cobb County Police Department. Late pick-up from ASP may be considered such an emergency.
- For the protection of your student, only people designated on the registration form will be allowed to pick up your student. IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
