Cobb 7A Playoff Picture Coming into Focus
On Friday night, Cobb Schools' 7A postseason got a little bit clearer. With 7 schools in two regions in (2-7A and 3-7A), Cobb boasts three programs in the top-10: North Cobb (#2), Walton (#5), and Pebblebrook (#10).
A huge matchup in Region 8 between #1 Collins Hill and #2 Mill Creek cleared the way for North Cobb to jump from third to second place in the 7A rankings. Collins Hill defeated Mill Creek 40-10, dropping Mill Creek to fourth, behind Milton.
North Cobb dismantled Marietta in a 35-9 road win at Northcutt Stadium to clinch the Region 3 title. The Warriors travel to North Paulding for their final regular season game this Friday. They will host Camden County on November 12 for their first-round playoff game.
Walton hosted Harrison for a regional contest on Friday. The Raiders started slow, but got their offense working in the second half to take the momentum and the game with a 41-10 win. Walton hosts Marietta this Friday for their final game before the playoffs. The winner will clinch second place in Region 3 and a home-field playoff game. Harrison has locked in fourth place and will travel to Lowndes on November 12 for their first-round postseason matchup.
Pebblebrook had the week off, but they return to play this week with a critical matchup against McEachern at Falcon Stadium. The final regular season matchup for both teams will determine the winner of 2-7A. The Indians (5-4) are on a three-game win streak and the Falcons (8-0-1) are looking to preserve an undefeated season. Falcon Stadium will be the place to be on Friday evening.
