Sprayberry and Wheeler Student-Athletes Earn AOW Honors

Cobb Schools' Athlete of the Week program is a weekly recognition of a male and a female student-athlete that perform at high levels in their sport, in the classroom, and in their school communities. The program is made possible by support from BSN.
This week's winners are from Sprayberry and Wheeler:
Ana Cedeno, Tennis, Sprayberry
Ana recently won her Line 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1, contributing to the Yellowjacket's team win over Kell High School. Ana is a junior and has played varsity tennis since her freshman year. She began playing when she was only 9-years old.
"She is a tenaciously tough player and is as strong at the end of a match as she is at the beginning," said her coach Tanya Lancee. "Ana is always confident in setting personal goals and achieving them. She always has a smile on her face, a positive attitude, and supports her teammates 100%. She is a valuable athlete and I am beyond proud to be her coach."
Ty Holiday, Track, Wheeler
At the Wheeler Relays, Ty had an amazing performance—1st place shot put; 3rd place in discus; 3rd place in the Big Man relay—to help his Wildcats win the overall meet. Ty is a junior and a two-sport athlete; he is a defensive lineman for the Wheeler football team in addition to being a standout Track and Field athlete.
"Ty sets his standards high on the playing field and in the classroom with a 3.6 GPA," said Wheeler Track coach Arth Holiday. "We are proud of what he has accomplished and pleased of how he represents our program here at Wheeler High School. We are excited to see what the future holds for him."
Congratulations to Ana and Ty, and Sprayberry and Wheeler! Both of you are great examples of student-athletes and team players. We look forward for more to come this season and next...
