IOWA/CogAT 20-21 Virtual Students Only
The Iowa/CogAT will be administered to our seventh grade students at Tapp Middle School on February 25th, and 26th for all face to face students, and on February 24th, and March 3, 2021 for all virtual students. This is a national standardized assessment that is used in several different ways.
The Iowa assessment (Iowa) is a norm-referenced test that measures student’s achievement in comparison to other students nationwide. Students in grades 3, 5, and 7 are tested in reading, mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies.
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) test measures student’s performance on their abilities related to success in school subjects.
Within Cobb, this assessment is also used as an indicator to help identify Gifted eligibility.
Only virtual parents should complete this survey by February 16, 2021 indicating if your student will be participating in this year's Iowa/CogAt administration. If needed, bus transportation is available for virtual students participating in testing.
