Thank you!We would like to extend a warm welcome and thank you to all of our new families who joined us for our New Family Launch! We are so excited to have you as part of the Vaughan family and look forward to an amazing school year together! A big thank you to all of our families who participated in Kona Ice Friday! Your support makes a difference. The proceeds from Kona Ice help support instructional programs and student/staff recognition at our school. Thank you for helping make Vaughan such a wonderful place to learn, grow, and SOAR! We truly appreciate your continued support and partnership. We are so glad you’re part of the Vaughan family! |
We are thrilled to share that the Cobb County Board of Education has approved significant renovations for Vaughan Elementary School as part of the SPLOST program. These improvements will include a new roof, updated flooring, replacement of our walk-in cooler and freezer, and important HVAC system upgrades. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our school and community. These upgrades will enhance our learning environment and support our students and staff for years to come. Renovations will take place over the next two years, and we will keep families informed as work progresses. Thank you for your continued support of Vaughan Elementary! |

✨ PBIS celebrates our SOAR-ing behavior at school! ✨The O in SOAR stands for Only Show Kindness, and we focused on that behavior for the Week of August 17th. These students have done an outstanding job making kind choices and setting a positive example for others. Congratulations to our students who truly SOARed! 🦅⭐We cannot wait to see how students SOAR next week with our focus on A-Accountable! |

We Feel the Need to Read!We are excited to see our students and their progress in reading so early in the year! Our students will be adding reading links to their grade-level chains throughout the year. Second grade is off to a flying start! |
Library NewsWe have seen a tremendous increase in our Beanstack engagement! We have 43% of our students actively logging. Our school goal this year is 450,000 minutes. Our Beanstack Reader of the Week is Kamryn Schmidt! Way to go, Kamryn! This is chosen using a different metric each week - it might be the most books logged, the most minutes logged, the longest streak, OR logging for the very first time! Most classes have had their library orientation and it is wonderful to see students excited about their books! One of the practices discussed in our orientation is book care. Please support your child in creating a special place in your home for library books. This prevents books from becoming lost or damaged. Library books can be kept for 2 weeks before they need to be returned or renewed. Keep reading, rockets! |

If you signed up to be a classroom volunteer this year, don't forget our volunteer meeting on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Classrooms 1222/1223. We'll have a quick presentation packed with helpful information to get you ready for a fantastic school year. WalkersIf you would like your child to be a walker at dismissal, please complete this linked form and return it to the office. To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal process, all walkers will receive a blue walker tag that should be attached to their bookbag and remain visible each day.
