Thank you for helping us keep afternoon dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient!

Starting September 28, our 3rd–5th grade students who plan to purchase an extra item in the cafeteria must have a “Lunch Extras” ticket to purchase extras. 

Please take a moment to:

⭐ Review the list of Extras offered and their prices.

⭐ Check your child’s available funds in My School Bucks.

⭐ Chat with your child about which extras they would like to purchase.

Each day, students will take their lunch extras ticket with them to the cafeteria.

📄 Several tickets were sent home with each 3-5 student on Friday, September 11th.

Our 3rd and 5th graders are getting ready for takeoff! 🛫 From September 29–October 2, students will take the Iowa Test, a national assessment that measures achievement in Reading, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Learn more by clicking the link: IOWA Parent Letter.

Families, you can help your child prepare for a smooth flight by:

⭐ Arriving at school on time each day

😴 Getting a good night’s sleep

🥣 Enjoying a healthy breakfast

💪 Encouraging them to do their best and believe in themselves!

This month, our PBIS focus will continue to highlight specific SOAR behaviors. Students who earn at least 5 PBIS points in the weekly focus area will be entered into a drawing for recognition! Our September focus areas are S – Safe (Sept. 7–11), O – Only Show Kindness (Sept. 14–18), and R – Respectful (Sept. 28–Oct. 2). Thank you for helping us encourage students to SOAR at school each day!

Our September Beanstack challenge - "Reading Gives Us Wings" - is underway! Encourage your child to log their reading if they are interested in completing the challenge!

We are gearing up to begin the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team! If your child is interested, please see Mrs. Zolan for a permission form (forms are due back on 9/16). This is an after-school club beginning on Monday, 10/19 and continuing through the competition date of 1/23. All students are welcome in the club, but the top 10 performers during practice rounds will compete at the HRRB competition on 1/23.
