August 26, 2026 — Allatoona High School ranks in the top 100 best public high schools in Georgia for 2026-27, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. The latest ranking reinforces Allatoona's place among Cobb’s top high schools. The top-100 ranking includes 11 Cobb schools.

When looking at schools just in the metro Atlanta area, Allatoona moves up the ranking to 57th.

These rankings are calculated based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, college curriculum breadth, and performance among underserved students.  

Allatoona’s recognition extends beyond Georgia, with the school also earning a strong national ranking.

Among more than 27,000 public high schools evaluated nationwide, Allatoona ranks in approximately the top 10% public high schools nationwide. 

The latest state and national rankings reflect Allatoona’s strong academic record, including its contribution to Cobb’s record-breaking graduation rate. That is more proof of the high level of achievement families can expect at Allatoona and across Cobb Schools.
