BHES Counseling Mission Statement
The mission of the Belmont Hills Elementary School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive, data driven program that focuses on the areas of academic, career, and personal development of all students. The school counselor will advocate for a positive learning environment that is inclusive to the success of every student.
BHES School Counseling Vision
Students of the Belmont Hills Elementary School counseling program will develop a foundation to become lifelong learners and positive contributors to the ever-changing society. They will exhibit determination, originality, positive decision-making skills, and the love for learning. Students will become college and career ready and strive to reach their fullest potential.
Ways to Reach the Counselor
- Students, parents, and teachers can all request to speak with the counselor.
- Students will fill out the 'I Need to See the Counselor' form.
- Parents can request via email.
How the Counselor Supports Students
- Individual Counseling - The counselor is available to talk with a student privately about specific concerns or needs.
- Small Groups - Students who share common concerns meet with a counselor on a weekly basis for 4 -6 weeks.
- Classroom Curriculum - The counselor will go into all K-5 classrooms at a scheduled time. The counselor will teach whole group lessons based on the Cobb County School Counseling Standards.
