Clear Bags

Dear McEachern Family,

I hope that everyone is having a great summer and staying safe. In the climate that we are currently living in, it is imperative that we do everything in our power to keep our students and staff as safe as possible while they are here on campus. In order to facilitate this, McEachern High School, after discussions with all stakeholders, will be instituting a Clear Bag Policy for the 2022-23 school year.

This means that the only bags (backpacks, tote bags, purses, etc.) that will be allowed on campus will be clear or mesh. Attached you will find examples of what will be allowed and what will not be allowed. Students are encouraged to bring their CCSD issued laptops in the CCSD issued laptop bags (which are not clear). The laptop bag is allowable as you can see on the flyer.

The athletic booster club will have a variety of clear bags for sale the week before school begins. Prices will vary depending upon the type of bag that is purchased.

If a student gets to school and does not have a clear bag, they will be asked to leave their bag in the administrator's office and carry their belongings either in their hands and/or a gallon clear bag that they will be given.

We will continue our Clear Bag Policy that was instituted last school year for football and basketball, but it will be expanded to all events that are held on campus.

As we begin the 2022-2023 school year, safety is always in the forefront of our minds. I am hoping that this policy will help all to be able to concentrate on teaching and learning as we continue to improve all aspects of school safety at McEachern.

Thank you for all that you do to make McEachern High School a great one!
