Principal's Message

Hello Spartan Families,

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break with family and friends.

The End of Course Tests are coming up for students who are enrolled in American Literature, Algebra I, Biology, and US History. There are letters in parents' language of preference in the attachments below. We ask that students get a good night's rest and come to school on time for testing.

As we continue to focus on teaching and learning each day, and to encourage students to focus during each 90-minute block, students are expected and required to put their cell phones in a cell phone caddy that each teacher has in their classroom. We also ask that parents not call students during those 90 minutes of instructional time.

The Student Behavior Contract Letter was shared with all parents/guardians at This is Sparta. All students received a copy on the first day of school and it was reviewed with students during the grade level assemblies. A copy of the letter is in the attachment below and will remain for the remainder of the school year. Please review the letter with your student.

Please note that there is a change this year to the Early Checkout TimeThe Early Checkout Time has been changed to 2:45 PM

The yearbook staff still has many fully paid, unclaimed 2023-24 yearbooks waiting for YOU to rescue them from their lonely shipping containers. Stop by room 904 before or after school or during 3rd block with a pass from your teacher to claim yours. Bringing your payment receipt is helpful, but your student ID will work just as well. Don’t delay—come pick up your yearbook soon!

IB Insights: A special thank you to our special guest, Maria Curits, LMFT, and Dr. Shroff of Georgia Psychiatry and Sleep Home | Georgia Psychiatry & Sleep for donating your time to guide our families on handling stress. Also, thank you to Mr. Jones who guided parents on handling college admissions.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join despite the Teams challenge - we will send notes out through Remind and look forward to seeing you again in February.

Seniors:
Ask your students about their Internal Assessments (IAs). Several were due before break and some this week.  Students have been registered for IB exams. Please see the info sent on Remind this week.
