All-state auditions are competitive events for young musicians who perform in band, orchestra, or choir. Students prepare challenging etudes and excerpts to perform them before a panel of judges, in two separate rounds of auditions. The highest-scoring students are selected statewide to participate in an all-state ensemble, which is a prestigious honor. Marlee Carter, an 11th grade student, won all-state finals to become one of the members of this high-status orchestra. Her journey to the All-State competition involved months of rigorous practice, honing her technical abilities, and refining musical expression. This is year we had four Spartans who passed the first auditions to the finals. Marlee Carter, Yusef Henry, Taya Park and Jai Yadav. Kudos to them all.
Please help congratulate the students below for participating in the GMEA District 12 Honor Chorus last weekend under the direction of Dr. Kari Adams from The University of Missouri.
