Principal's Message

r

Good afternoon, Spartan Families,

We want to remind all of our families that Monday, March 4, is an Asynchronous Day for students. Students will work from home. Please make sure that students check CTLS for their assignments.

Parents, please note that when coming to the office to check out a student or to get a visitor's badge, a picture ID must be shown. Also, we will be getting a new doorbell system soon. Finally, please make sure that your student has all of their belongings in the morning before they leave home so that we do not have to disrupt instruction by calling into classes.

Campbell has been named a 2024 GaDOE AP Honor School! We are pleased to recognize the efforts of staff and  students and to thank our teachers for providing rigorous and challenging coursework to our students. These courses require hard work by teachers and students and the award recognizes this commitment.

You can find the complete press release and list of awards here:

Superintendent Woods names 2024 AP Honor Schools

The deadline to register and pay for AP Exams for May 2024 is Friday, March 8th at 4pm Students should make sure they have joined the appropriate AP Classroom (information provided by their teacher) and registered and submitted payment through Total Registration.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Armour (John.Armour@cobbk12.org) or Dr. Dorrough (Jennifer.Dorrough@cobbk12.org).  Link for Total Registration: Campbell High School - AP Exam Registration (totalregistration.net)"

Message from the Attendance Office

Excused vs. Unexcused Absences: Students are required to obtain a pass from their teacher and report to the school nurse if they are feeling ill during the instructional day.  The school nurse will contact the parent if it is determined the student should go home for the day. These absences are considered excused and coded AEC.  If a student calls/texts a parent for pick up and does not report to the clinic first, the absence from class(es) is unexcused. Students will not have the option to visit the clinic for the nurse to assess after the parent has arrived and have the absence excused.

On special occasions, such as Valentine’s Day or the upcoming MLK Humanitarian Awards Ceremony, all early checkouts will require a doctor’s excuse to have the absence coded excused. We encourage all students to remain in school for the full day unless they are not feeling well. We want to limit early checkouts and maximize instructional time.

Parents are reminded that students should not be dropped off before 7:30 AM unless it has been requested by a teacher or coach and they will remain with that adult. Students are also expected to leave the building no later than 4 PM unless they are under the supervision of a teacher or coach.

Best regards,
Dr. Watkins
