Principal's Message
rSmy

Good afternoon, Spartan Families,

We want to thank all of our parents/guardians for another rewarding school year for our students and staff.
We only have three half-days of school remaining.  We wish everyone an enjoyable and safe summer and look forward to celebrating our seniors at their Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 25 at 10 AM! Congratulations, Class of 2024!

We are asking our parents to please remind your student that it is considered a felony to bring any of the following to school: Splatball, watergun, or anything that fires a projectile

We also want parents to talk to their student about following the Cobb County Student Code of Conduct these last three days of school. Suspensions and possible Long- term suspensions to Ombudsman will follow into the next year for certain violations such as fighting, any altercation, drugs and pranks. Students are expected to follow the County's Code of Conduct until they get off the bus and get into their homes. We have made these announcements at school as well.  We want this school year to end safely for our students and staff and want everyone to end the year being Committed, Honorable, and Strong to our school's vision and mission.

To all parents/guardians of 10th grade students. There is a letter, in English and Spanish, attached below about required immunizations for August 2024.

Parents, if your student needs to attend Summer School or Course Extension, the information for Summer is in the attachments in both English and Spanish including how to register them. There is also an attachment about Course Extension. Your student's counselor can also assist you.

We are continuing with AP tests this week. There is AP information to parents in the attachments below.

The Campbell End of Year Schedule in calendar form is in the attachment below. Please review it so that you are updated about the events for these last few days of school.

Parents, please note that when coming to the office to check out your student or communicate with the front office staff, there is a new doorbell system.  A picture ID must be shown and there are signs to assist you.

Message from the Attendance Office

Excused vs. Unexcused Absences: Students are required to obtain a pass from their teacher and report to the school nurse if they are feeling ill during the instructional day.  The school nurse will contact the parent if it is determined the student should go home for the day. These absences are considered excused and coded AEC.  If a student calls/texts a parent for pick up and does not report to the clinic first, the absence from class(es) is unexcused. Students will not have the option to visit the clinic for the nurse to assess after the parent has arrived and have the absence excused.

On special occasions, all early checkouts will require a doctor’s excuse to have the absence coded excused. We encourage all students to remain in school for the full day unless they are not feeling well. We want to limit early checkouts and maximize instructional time.

Parents are reminded that students should not be dropped off before 7:30 AM unless it has been requested by a teacher or coach and they will remain with that adult. Students are also expected to leave the building no later than 4 PM unless they are under the supervision of a teacher or coach.

Best regards,
Dr. Watkins

We want to share a few pictures from our inaugural Campbell Advanced Placement Scholars (CAPS) Stole Ceremony that was held last Thursday evening. Jim Duelmer, president of the CHS Foundation, gave brief words of encouragement to the students. Students were presented their stoles by an influential teacher of their choice. Each teacher provided a few words of encouragement about that student. Parents and families were a part of the celebration, and our JROTC and culinary students supported the program as ushers and with refreshments, respectively. CAPS is open to all students who are not enrolled in our Campbell IB Program and who maintain a 3.5 GPA and take 5 Advanced Placement courses and take 5 Advanced Placement tests by the end of their senior year.  Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are encouraged to apply by contacting Jennifer.Dorrough@cobbk12.org

Softball tryouts will be this Wednesday and Thursday, May 22nd & 23rd from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Campbell Softball Facility.
