Cell Phone

At Cooper Middle School, we strive to create an environment conducive to learning and free from unnecessary distractions. To support this goal, the following cell phone policy will be implemented:

Cell Phone Policy:

  • No Cell Phones on Person: Students are not allowed to have cell phones on their person during the school day.
  • Storage in Lockers: Students who bring cell phones to school must place them in their lockers at the beginning of the school day. The cell phone must remain in the locker until the end of the school day at dismissal.

Consequences for Policy Violation:

  1. First Offense:
    • The cell phone will be confiscated.
    • A parent or guardian must come to the school to pick up the cell phone.
  2. Second Offense:
    • The cell phone will be confiscated.
    • The student will be issued administrative detention.
    • A parent or guardian must come to the school to pick up the cell phone.
  3. Third and Subsequent Offenses:
    • The cell phone will be confiscated.
    • The student will receive an office disciplinary referral.
    • Progressive discipline measures will be implemented for insubordination.
    • A parent or guardian must come to the school to pick up the cell phone.

Note: Progressive discipline measures may include, but are not limited to, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, or other appropriate actions as determined by the administration.

By working together to adhere to this policy, we can ensure that all students have the opportunity to engage fully in their educational experience without the disruption of cell phones. We appreciate your cooperation and support in maintaining a focused and productive learning environment at Cooper Middle School.
