Friday At Five (Daniell Weekly News And Upcoming Events)

Friday at Five
April 24, 2025
Thank you to those of you who gave your time or food donations to us for the duty free teacher luncheon today! The teachers loved the lunch and always appreciate the time for a quieter, student-free, less noisy cafeteria!
Milestone testing continues! See below for the testing schedule. Please do your best to ensure that your student is at school during testing for his/her grade level. If there is more than one section on a day, students will be testing during the morning, break for lunch, and resume testing in the afternoon.
April 27: 8th grade ELA 1
April 28: 8th grade ELA 2, 3
April 29: 6th grade ELA 1
April 30: 6th grade ELA 2,3

May 4: 7th grade ELA 1

Make up testing for all grades will occur during the afternoons of testing days throughout the window.
Students should arrive to school on time, go to bed at a decent time, and eat a good breakfast during testing.
8th Grade Parents: 8th graders who do not pass the Math Milestones April 21 will attend remediation during the school day and take the Math Milestone Retest May 12. (Make ups May 13) Student schedules may be rearranged during this time to allow for remediation to take place.

Dance tickets will be on sale for 2 days next week during lunch: Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30, for $20 a ticket. In order to attend the dance, students must 1) meet the behavior criteria 2) turn in a signed permission slip, and 3) purchase a dance ticket. Tickets will not be sold the day of the dance.
Volunteer Opportunity: If you would like to volunteer to help with the 8th grade dance, Friday, May 1, please sign up for a spot on the sign up genius link below. We will even accept help from 6th and 7th grade parents! Thank you for your help!

8th Grade Parents: Would you like to publicly wish your 8th grade good luck in high school? If so, for $15, we will make your child their own slide on our electronic sign to display from May 11 – May 20. Go to My Payments Plus to pay and complete the form with the message you would like to have displayed. Payments must be received by May 6 in order to be displayed in time. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association.
Donation Opportunity: The first week of May is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. We need your help in showing our staff your love and appreciation!
One day is going to be a chocolate/candy bar day themed around how much the teachers are worth. Some examples are below:
100 Grand – the most obvious money-themed candy
PayDay – perfect for “you deserve a payday!” messages
Almond Joy / Mounds – “you bring us so much joy (and deserve mounds of thanks… or money!)”
Mr. Goodbar – “you’re worth good pay!”
Hershey’s Nuggets – like “gold nuggets”
We would love a donation of a pack of candy bars such as the ones above (or any other ones you can think of!)
Another donation request is for $10 gift cards that we give to the teachers. Think of the places you shop-The teachers love the same places. (Target, Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, TJ Maxx, Zaxbys, Publix, etc.)
Please begin sending all donations, candy bars and/or gift cards, to the front office beginning next week. Your student can drop them off or you can swing by. WE THANK YOU!!
All library books are due back Friday, May 11.
