Two Cobb Schools Named Model Professional Learning Communities

January 7, 2026 — Across all of Georgia, seven schools achieved recognition as a Model Professional Learning Community at work.

Two of those seven Georgia schools honored are Cobb Schools.

Cooper Middle School and Daniell Middle School earned the recognition for 2025. This was the second honor for Daniell, which was first recognized in 2022. When recognized the first time, Daniell was only the second school in the District to achieve the recognition as a Model Professional Learning Community (following Hightower Trail Middle School). Schools must reapply every three years and are not guaranteed to earn the recognition again, making Daniell's repeat achievement especially notable.

Other Cobb Schools that have been honored in the past include Dickerson Middle School, Dodgen Middle School, Hightower Trail Middle School, and Tapp Middle School. In total, only 61 schools statewide have received this honor.

Earning this recognition means a school has demonstrated clear signs of growth and achieved tangible results in student success.

The Solution Tree group seeks several factors, including improvements in Math, Reading, and English, as well as fostering a collaborative culture within the school.

The strides these schools have taken continue to prove valuable in setting students up for success, with 2025 setting a Cobb School record for the highest all-time graduation rate.
