Dodgen Middle School Recognized by State Superintendent as a Literacy and Math Leader in Georgia!

Georgia Schools Superintendent Richard Woods recently visited Cobb County to recognize Dodgen Middle School and 25 other Cobb County elementary, middle, and high schools as Literacy Leaders . This was the first year the state recognized middle schools for literacy achievement, and five Cobb middle schools earned the inaugural honor.
“Literacy is the foundation of success, and it’s clear Cobb students have a strong foundation. Our schools are recognized as leaders because our teachers are able to focus on what matters and use Georgia standards as their guide,” said Board member Brad Wheeler.
And again on April 1, 2025, State Superintendent Woods paid another visit to Cobb to recognize Dodgen Middle School along with several other Cobb County schools as a Math Leaders in Georgia.
Recognizing the success of their students, each honored school received a Literacy Leader and Math Leader Banner. These awards are based on the results of the 2023-2024 Georgia Milestones Assessment.
