Lassiter Marching Band Earns Top Honors at Tarpon Springs Festival

The Lassiter Marching Band capped off its competition season with an outstanding performance at the 29th Annual Tarpon Springs Outdoor Music Festival (OMF), hosted by the Tarpon Springs High School Leadership Conservatory for the Arts (TSLCA) in Tampa, Florida. The ensemble brought home numerous top awards, including the prestigious Overall Grand Champion title.
The Lassiter Marching Band earned recognition in the following categories:
Overall Grand Champion
Grand Champion, Class AAAAA
Most Outstanding Woodwinds
Most Outstanding Brass
Most Outstanding Auxiliary
Most Outstanding General Effect
Most Outstanding Drum Major
Most Outstanding Visual Performance
In addition to these accolades, the band received the Fred J. Miller Outstanding Visual Performance Trophy, presented to the ensemble with the highest overall score in visual performance and effect. They were also honored with the Barbara and Jim Ford Esprit de Corps Award, recognizing the group that demonstrates exceptional spirit, attitude, and sportsmanship.
All senior band members participating in the competition were awarded medals in recognition of their dedication, leadership, spirit, and service over the past four years.
