EOG/EOC Testing Information 2024
Families of Lost Mountain Students,
In compliance with the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and Georgia HB244, students in grades 6 through 8 will be assessed with Georgia Milestones Assessment System End of Grade (EOG) assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics, and students in grade 8 will also be assessed in Science and Social Studies.
These assessments measure how well students have mastered the state-adopted content standards. Cobb County teachers and students have been working all year to ensure that students are prepared to take these assessments. Preparations have included teaching students to answer more complex questions and to provide supporting evidence.
Georgia Milestones EOG assessments are administered on the computer. These assessments include selected-response (multiple-choice) and technology-enhanced items in all grades and courses, as well as constructed response (open-ended), extended constructed response, and extended writing-response items in English Language Arts. Students will take these assessments following the schedule below. Please remind your student of the importance of doing their best on each section of the tests and ensure your child reports promptly to school on the scheduled test days. After Cobb County School District receives the test results, you will be able to access them via CTLS Parent. If you have any questions about Georgia Milestones assessment administration, please contact the Test Coordinator, Austin Smith at Austin.smith2@cobbk12.org
Information regarding the Georgia Milestones Assessment System can be found at gadoe.org.

A few things to note:
Students will attend academic classes each day after EOG/EOC testing in the morning.
Students will be testing on their student devices. Therefore, they will need to arrive to school with a charged laptop and their power cord. If your student has lost their power cord, it is recommended that you purchase another one (link on LMMS website under the Resources tab).
Handheld calculators will be allowed on the Math and Science sections. Your student's teacher will give them more information on the type of calculator allowed. There will also be an online calculator provided to all students through the testing platform.
Students must take the assigned test on the assigned day; there are no early assessments. These dates are set by the state/district and cannot be altered - no exceptions.
Make up testing will occur after the assigned test date to accommodate any absences. Students who are absent and miss an assessment will be pulled from class at any point of any given day to attend a make-up session.
Please know that we will be testing in groups, so testing will occur throughout the span of the given school day. This means if your student has an appointment, etc. that cannot be scheduled around their testing days, it would be best to schedule these after 2:30 to avoid any testing conflicts and possible make up sessions.
Note for 8th Grade Students:
All 8th Grade students (regardless of math class/level) will take the Math 8 EOG. Students in High School Algebra will also take the Algebra EOC.
Students scheduled in high school Physical Science will only take the Physical Science assessment; students scheduled in AC Science 8 or Science 8 will only take the Science EOG.
Thank you in advance for your support.
