Participating in sports in Cobb means being part of a team. Learning how to work together and following the leadership of the coaches are valuable life lessons that follow student-athletes well beyond their high school years. However, learning and teamwork don't always have to take place on the field or the court.

Giving back to the people and local communities that help support our programs is extremely important and life-changing. McEachern and Wheeler student-athletes most recently exemplified this with a "Day of Service" to help broaden their focus beyond their sport and their own individual needs.

The Indian football team spent a morning at the Reflections of Trinity food bank in Powder Springs. The coaching staff talked about "doing your part" outside the walls of the school to ensure that the community was as strong as it could be. More information about McEachern's Day of Service can be heard on the current episode of The Cobb Sports Podcast.

Additionally, Wheeler football, soccer, lacrosse, track, and cheer team members recently participated in a school-wide campus clean-up at Wheeler High School.

These service opportunities not only benefit the community and schools of our student-athletes but serve as team-building activities and offer a new perspective on what it means to be a servant leader.

Well done, McEachern and Wheeler! Opportunities like this are powerful reminders of the support network surrounding our schools and students and a recognition that teamwork doesn't stop when the whistle blows.
