2024 - 2025 Advanced Content 

Mountain View offers Advanced Math and Advanced English Language Arts courses for qualifying 4th and 5th grade students.  Qualification is determined by an ability measure (CogAT), an achievement measure (Iowa, Milestones EOG, or Math Inventory) and classroom performance.  Click here for the qualification rubric (NOTE - MVES utilizes Option #2 to determine qualification for AC for 4th grade, and Option #1 for 5th grade).

AC programmatic instruction includes accelerated pacing of spiraled material, performance tasks that extend grade-level standards and expectations, and an introduction to above grade-level standards and concepts. Strategies appropriate for advanced learners are incorporated into daily lessons.
