Osborne High School’s continued academic growth has earned statewide recognition from the Georgia Department of Education. The school has been named a 2026 AP Honor School in two categories: AP STEM School and AP Access and Support School. These distinctions celebrate Osborne’s success in expanding access to rigorous, college-level coursework while helping students achieve at increasingly higher levels.
Osborne High School’s Advanced Placement program demonstrated substantial growth in both student participation and achievement between 2022 and 2026. During these five years, the number of AP students increased from 129 to 324, while the number of AP exams completed increased from 176 to 502.
Student achievement also improved significantly. In 2022, 53 students earned at least one AP exam score of 3 or higher, representing 41.09% of all AP students. By 2026, that number had increased to 204 students, or 62.96% of the school’s AP students, the highest success rate recorded during the five years.
This progress has been intentional. Osborne believes that more students should have the opportunity to challenge themselves through Advanced Placement coursework. The school has worked to expand access, strengthen instruction, and provide the academic support students need to succeed. Being named an AP Access and Support School is especially meaningful because it affirms Osborne’s commitment to making advanced academic opportunities available to students throughout the school community.
The AP Honor School designation adds to Osborne’s continued record of academic progress. From increased AP participation and performance to gains in End-of-Course results and a growing number of students earning academic honors, Osborne students continue to demonstrate what is possible when opportunity, high expectations, and strong instructional support come together.
At Osborne, expanding access and increasing achievement are not competing goals—they are happening together. This recognition belongs to the students who accepted the AP challenge, the teachers who supported and encouraged them, and the families, counselors, administrators, and staff members who helped make their success possible.
