March 3, 2025 - Forbes has once again recognized the Cobb County School District (CCSD) as one of America's best large employers. This latest honor builds on Cobb Schools’ long-standing reputation as one of Georgia’s Best Employers, an accolade the district has earned six years in a row. 

Cobb’s placement in the rankings puts the district ahead of major national employers such as The Walt Disney Company, Comcast, PepsiCo, Amazon, the State of Tennessee, and MetLife. Among Georgia-based employers, Cobb Schools outranks Chick-fil-A, Cox Enterprises, Georgia-Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and United Parcel Service (UPS), among others. 

One of the Top School Districts in the Nation 

Cobb Schools is one of only two Georgia school districts to make the list and stands among five school districts nationwide to be honored. This consistent recognition highlights Cobb’s commitment to its educators, staff, and students, setting it apart from many other districts across the country. 

While many school systems struggle with teacher recruitment and retention, Cobb Schools has maintained a strong, dedicated team of educators who return year after year—a testament to Cobb’s ongoing investment in its employees. 

Innovative Programs Drive Retention and Growth 

The district’s innovative Georgia’s BEST (Building Educator Success Together) program is a key factor in Cobb's ability to attract and retain top educators. This initiative, launched in partnership with the University of West Georgia, provides educators with the opportunity to pursue advanced degrees at no tuition cost. 

As of February 2024, Georgia’s BEST celebrated its one-year anniversary, and enrollment has now opened for the next cohort of educators eager to further their careers without financial barriers. The program’s success reflects Cobb Schools’ commitment to professional development, ensuring educators have the support and resources needed to thrive and best support Cobb students.
