A Message from Our Principal, Dr. Rachel
Greetings Eagles!
It is a true honor to serve as your principal here at Austell Elementary School. My journey in education includes a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Science in Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University, an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Each step of this journey has strengthened my commitment to supporting students, families, and educators in meaningful ways.
At Austell Elementary, I believe our school is more than a place of learning; it is a community where curiosity is nurtured, potential is discovered, and every child is encouraged to grow academically, think critically, and develop socially and emotionally. I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I am proud to partner with our dedicated staff and families to create an environment where every student feels valued, inspired, and empowered to succeed.
For over 21 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the Cobb County School District, developing a deep appreciation for our community’s dedication, resilience, and spirit. My favorite part about being a principal is helping others see their potential and coaching to pay that gift forward. When students, teachers, and families see their own potential and reach new heights, they are truly successful. Every day, I witness incredible growth and achievement, and nothing inspires me more.
When I am not at school, you might find me cycling along local trails, hiking with my family and friends, crocheting colorful creations, getting lost in a good book or action movie, or even knocking down a few pins at the bowling alley.
Thank you for trusting me and my faculty with your children’s education. I look forward to a year filled with curiosity, growth, and success for every student in our school.
With care,
KRachel

A Message from Assistant Principal Oliver
Hello, Austell Elementary Families!
I’m excited to begin my 8th year as the Assistant Principal at Austell Elementary School and my 28th year in education. It’s a true honor to continue serving the students, families, and staff of this dedicated and caring school community.
My educational journey began at the University of Alaska Anchorage (yes—Alaska!), where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Driven by a passion for leadership and continuous improvement, I later earned a Master of Education degree and an Education Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University and Argosy University respectively.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside inspiring educators and incredible students. My focus has always been on building positive school cultures, supporting academic and social growth, and fostering strong, trusting relationships. I’m deeply committed to helping every student thrive and to supporting our teachers in the essential work they do each day. I truly believe that collaboration and connection are at the heart of a successful school.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and spending time on the lake or at the beach. These moments help me recharge and reflect—so I can bring my best self to the work we do together.
I’m looking forward to another wonderful school year and to connecting with all of you!
Warmly,
T. Oliver
