Dodgen 6th Grader ranks #1 in State Middle School Math Counts Competition; Team earns 2nd place

Dodgen Middle School has made headlines with their outstanding performance at the State MATHCOUNTS competition. Under the leadership of their lead coach, David Gabel, Dodgen advanced from the chapter competition in February with six students earning a spot in the state competition.
Sixth Grader in the Lead
Leading the ranks was Max Lin, who emerged as the top individual competitor in the state of Georgia. He demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, quick thinking, and a deep understanding of complex mathematical concepts. Max's dedication and hard work paid off, earning him the prestigious first place title and the opportunity to compete in the National MATHCOUNTS competition this coming May in Washington, DC!
The MathCOUNTS Team Finished 2nd Place Overall in the State Competition
The Dodgen Middle School MATHCOUNTS team, Max Lin, Benny Le, Aidan Park, and Adrija Chakraborty qualified to compete in both the individual and the team round competitions. Additionally, Timothy Guo and Matt Lu qualified for state as individual competitors. These students showcased their remarkable math skills by securing second place in the team round competition. The team's synergy, strategic approach, and relentless practice were evident as they tackled the challenging problems with precision and confidence. Their achievement underscores the importance of teamwork and collaboration.
