Course Registration
Schedules for the spring semester are now available to view in ParentVue/StudentVue. Parents and students should review the schedule carefully to ensure students are properly scheduled. If you find an issue with the schedule that fits one of the criteria below and, thus, warrants a change, please complete the schedule change form linked at the bottom of this message. This form will be available until 4:00 PM on Friday, December 13th. Schedules will only be reviewed based upon the completed form and not via email. Please complete the form only once, as duplicate submissions slow the review process.
Schedule changes will not be considered if the student was placed in a course that they either requested or selected as an option during the registration process in Spring 2024. If students failed to complete course requests, they were placed in courses that fit their schedule.
VALID CRITERIA FOR SCHEDULE CHANGES
- The student is registered for a course that will be a duplicate credit.
- The student has not completed a prerequisite course that is needed.
- The student is a senior who needs a course to meet their graduation requirements.
- The student has an open block (meaning there is no class scheduled for one or more periods).
- Dual Enrollment student already enrolled in equivalent high school course.
- The student has a double block (meaning there are two classes booked for the same period).
Note: Students can view schedule changes (if one of the above criteria is applicable) in their StudentVue account, so please review it each morning for any updates. Students will receive printed schedules in advisement on the first day of second semester.
How does scheduling work?
Each Spring, all students are given the opportunity to complete core and elective registration and then a chance to review those selections. Core registration is based on teacher recommendations. If a student/parent disagrees with the core registration placement, an opportunity is given to submit a course waiver during the review window in the spring. For elective registration, students are given the opportunity to select courses they would consider taking as part of the schedule for the year. These registrations are used to determine course offerings, teacher hiring, and seat availability for the following school year. Students are expected to honor their course requests. Unfortunately, preference changes after the completion of Spring registration are not guaranteed.
Is your student a senior interested in Minimum Day and missed the initial application window?
Seniors on track to graduate and with a minimum of 20 credits may apply for minimum day for spring 2025. They may print the attached application or pick one up from the counseling office and turn it into Mrs. Sanders or the Counseling Office by the end of the day Friday, 12/13/24 to be eligible. Please review the application carefully for further requirements.
