2026-2027 Core and Elective Registration Information
Registration for Spring Semester 2027 Academic (core) Classes
Registration for Spring 2027 academic (core) classes will be held February 4 – February 10, 2026. Teachers will speak with students about their recommended academic core placements. Each content area has specific placement requirements, including for honors and Advanced Placement courses.
Course Waiver
The 2026-2027 Course Waiver will be available from February 23rd to March 6th. IMPORTANT: The waiver is applicable to Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semester course placements.
Information for Rising 9th Grade Students – Parent Meeting February 3, 2025
Tuesday, February 3rd, at 6:30 PM, Kennesaw Mountain is hosting a meeting for rising 9th grade students and their parents in the theatre. After the meeting, students and parents can visit with representatives from extracurricular and athletic organizations for information in the cafeteria.
Middle school teachers will make placement academic recommendations February 2 – 6 using placement criteria provided by the high school. If you have questions regarding a placement recommendation, please contact your child’s teacher.
2026-2027 Elective Registration (current students and rising 9th grade students)
Elective registration for the 2026-2027 school year will be held February 9 – February 13. It is important for all students to make informed decisions about their course selections for the year. Requests for changes will be limited next year and students are expected to honor their course selections. To register for electives, students will select eight (8) elective courses. The first (#1) course should be the course the student must desires to take and the eighth (#8) should be the course the student can “live with” because it could be part of the student’s final schedule. To access the registration form link, the student must login as a Cobb student except for McClure Middle School students. McClure students will use the designated registration link below.
The elective worksheet identifies courses in sequential order (ex. Course 1, Course 2, etc.). Please refer to the 2026-2027 Elective Course Catalog for information and available Pathways. Students interested in application only courses must complete elective registration by selecting 8 electives. Course electives will be adjusted to accommodate students accepted into application-based programs before the end of the semester.
