Message from the Principal
Dear Mableton Family,
I’m honored to serve as the principal of Mableton Elementary School—a place I believe is not only good enough for your child, but one I would proudly choose for my own. With more than 30 years in education—including 18 years in Cobb County—I’ve spent my career building schools where every child is seen, supported, and believed in. My journey began as a school aide in New York, and every step since has been driven by one guiding truth: If a classroom isn’t good enough for my own son, it’s not good enough for anyone’s child.
As a husband, father, and lifelong educator, I understand how much trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care. Please know this: your children are my top priority. Every decision I make is guided by a simple but powerful question—Is this what’s best for kids? When the answer is yes, I move forward with full confidence. When it’s not, we find a better way. My wife Michelle also works in education, and our 22-year-old son Joey reminds me daily why this work matters. Families like yours deserve a school where children are not only educated but championed—where they are safe, celebrated, and challenged to grow.
As your principal, I can promise you that I will lead with heart, purpose, and a simple but powerful mantra: Be a Champion for Kids. To me, being a champion means doing whatever it takes to put students first—advocating for them, believing in them, and making sure they have what they need to succeed.
I have challenged my entire staff to Be a Champion for Kids—and now, I challenge you to do the same. Not just for your own child, but for every child. For the student you may see getting off the bus alone. For the one who needs a little extra encouragement, a high five, or a smile. Together, we can create a community where every child feels valued and uplifted.
I’m ecstatic to return to the south side of the district and thrilled to be part of this vibrant, committed Mableton community.
When educators, families, and the community come together as champions, we create something powerful—a school where every child thrives, and every future is bright. I’m ecstatic to return to the south side of the district and thrilled to join this dynamic, vibrant, and committed Mableton community. Let’s be champions together—for kids, for families, and for the future.
Warmly,
Mike Cappucci, Ed.S.
