Advanced 5th grade ELA & 4th & 5th grade Math is based on data gathered in the areas of ability, achievement, performance, and motivation. Your child will receive a rigorous and engaging learning experience in a homogenous class with a specially trained teacher, Kim Bingham and/or Shana Vest.  In addition to grade-level standards, your child’s learning will be extended using problem-based learning, research, and accelerated pacing.

In order to maintain advanced course placement from 4th grade to 5th grade, your child must maintain an annual average of 80% or higher and meet grade-level standards on the End of Grade Test (Milestone) by scoring at the Proficient Level or higher in that content area. Placement in Advanced Content at Mount Bethel Elementary does not guarantee Advanced Content placement in middle school.  Cobb County middle schools independently develop the Advanced Content criteria for their student population.
