Cobb County strives to make learning equitable and accessible by providing a laptop for every student.
Registering Your Student to Borrow a County-Issued Laptop:
All students are expected to have a device for digital learning at school and at home. Parents of new Cobb County students and of rising 6th graders, must either register to borrow a county-issued laptop or decline this resource. In other words, you may "opt-in" or "opt-out" of the Cobb County Student Laptop Program. You will do this in the ParentVue app which is accessible to parents 24 hours after registering a middle or high school student for a Cobb County school.
Why Opt-in:
- Your student will have easier connectivity at school with a county-issued laptop.
- Your student will have better connectivity at school with a county-issued laptop.
- Your student will have all programs and apps used at school readily available on their county-issued laptop.
How to Opt-in:
Follow these 4 easy steps to opt your student in for a laptop:
- Sign in to ParentVue. ParentVue is accessible from "Login" tab at the top of the Cobb County website at www.cobbk12.org
- Click on "Student Device Liability Agreement"
- Accept the terms of the agreement
- Click "Opt-in"
Troubleshooting:
If you have trouble opting in on your phone or ipad...
- Close Safari browser completely (swipe up to close)
- Go to Settings-> Safari and toggle off “Block Pop Ups”
- Relaunch Safari, navigate back to the ParentVue site
- Tap the agreement. You’ll get a warning about opening it, but tap "Open" and the agreement should pop up
