Congratulations to the Lassiter Boys Varsity Basketball team on winning the 6-AAAAA Region Championship!
The Trojans secured the championship with a 48-39 victory over Woodstock High School in the Friday, Feb. 20 championship game, marking a truly historic moment for the program. This is Lassiter’s first region championship in 35 years and only the second region championship in school history.
This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, determination, and commitment of the players and coaches throughout the season. Congratulations also go out to head coach Jay McAuley for being named 6-AAAAA Region Coach of the Year; a well-deserved honor and a reflection of his leadership and dedication to the team.
The Trojans now turn their attention to the state playoffs, where they will host Veterans High School at home on Wednesday. Best of luck to Lassiter as they continue their postseason run! Go Trojans!
