Pearson Middle School hosts Hispanic Heritage Month event.

October 1, 2025—Every year, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated September 15 through October 15. At Pearson Middle School, they take special pride in celebrating Hispanic culture as they hosted their 5th Annual Hispanic Heritage Night.

The night included performances by a mariachi band and traditional dancers, lively music from a DJ, interactive games, and an array of authentic dishes prepared by more than 40 families.

In total, more than 600 people joined in on the fun, which showcases how much a celebration like this means to the students, teachers, and families at Pearson and all of Cobb Schools.

Students celebrate the 5th annual Hispanic Heritage Night at Pearson.

"At Pearson, Hispanic Heritage Night is not just an annual event—it is a reflection of the school’s identity as a family, a community, and a place where inclusion and respect are lived every day," said Principal Dean Yoder.

The large turnout was Pearson's biggest to date for this celebration.

The night’s impact was perhaps best captured in the words of one mother who shared that she never imagined a school could value and honor her culture as much as Pearson.

"With tears in her eyes, she explained that the music, dancing, and games made her feel as if she were home—and, more importantly, that the event showed her how deeply the school respects and embraces her heritage," said Principal Yoder.

Hispanic Heritage Month continues through October 15th.
