Girls in grades 3-5 are invited to join the “Girls Serious About Stem” club. The club meets on Monday afternoons from 2:30 to 3:30. Between 30 and 40 girls join each year.

During meetings, girls work on STEM, engineering, and coding projects, or program and fly drones. Woman, who work in STEM careers, are excited to visit the girls and teach them about different STEM related careers. These woman are great role models. Visitors include pilots, physical scientists who work for the Forestry Department, mechanical, geological, electrical, computer, and aerospace engineers. We also had a presentation from a former Cobb County student who now works for Tesla as a lead engineer and heads a department of 12 engineers.

We love that we can give our Varner girls this opportunity, and we are looking forward to a great year.
